AI Music for the AI Age

Despite initial skepticism, it is now undeniable that AI-generated art is here to stay. Not only that, but it will hold its own alongside art created by humans.

A music video with the chorus “18 months to escape the permanent underclass” proves this point vividly. A single prompt and 12 hours of processing time produced the lyrics, visuals, video, and music. The result is a five-minute music video created by AI for the AI era.

An entire YouTube channel called The Omega Point is dedicated to standout AI-generated music videos.

The first stirrings of excitement over an AI-generated song and video came, of all places, from the world of country music—a genre that certainly doesn’t see itself as being close to new technologies like AI. The song “Walk My Walk” by the fictional singer Breaking Rust stormed the country charts last fall and sparked endless discussions.

I’d already experimented with music AIs like Udio myself, and this one really captivated me. I spent half a day playing around with it, trying out different styles and combining them. Here’s my video featuring a medley of different music genres.

For me—someone who actually plays an instrument, spent many years performing as a dance musician, and is always trying out new instruments—AI is just another instrument and tool for making music. And yes, the style and music of 18 Months to Escape the Permanent Underclass really speak to me.

Javi Fandos also created a music video like this, and described the AI tools and prompts as well

The Song:
Generated with Suno. My first song ever.

The Images:
Claude wrote the Midjourney prompts. I copy-pasted them, picked the image I liked, and downloaded it.Claude find it in my laptop.

The Motion:
Claude generated 112 video clips from through OpenRouter.I only paid like 60€ for credits. No idea how that works.

The Edit:
Claude wrote all the code that puts every clip, word and graphic on the beat. I never saw a line of it. I had a html where i could see everything and understand the order.

My Job:
Copy-paste, follow instructions, watch the drafts and say “I don’t like that”, “move this”, “faster”. Just one long conversation. 100 messages and 8 video drafts.

Here the final video result:
