Figure.AI, a three-and-a-half-year-old startup in San Jose, showed in a three-minute video how the third generation of its own humanoid, equipped with a new version of the Vision-Action-Language (VLA) model, confidently performed tasks in the kitchen.

We can see how the humanoid robot Figure 03

Clears cups and plates from the dishwasher,

shelves them,

takes more cups and plates out of the sink,

puts them in the dishwasher,

puts a dishwasher tablet in the dishwasher,

the dishwasher closes and turns on.

The ease with which the robot performs these household tasks is remarkable. A funny moment occurs when the robot first lifts the dishwasher door with its left foot and then closes it with its hand. Bending down completely, as we are used to seeing humans do to reach the open dishwasher door, still seems to be one of the challenges for humanoid robots like this bipedal one.

But why not watch the video yourself:

Less than three months ago, the first demonstrations of a humanoid robot by a Palo Alto-based company raised doubts about the capabilities and future of humanoids, but now the situation has changed.
