San Francisco 1912 and 2021

I’ve actually been meaning to put a little less focus on Silicon Valley itself since changing my website, but occasionally something comes up that’s just too interesting. Facebook user Mark Hersch contrasts historical drawings of various cities from a bird’s eye view with current photographs to show their changes.

In this case, he took a 1912 drawing intended to advertise the Panama Pacific Exposition, held in San Francisco in 1915, and juxtaposed it with a recent photograph taken from the same perspective. Here is the result:
