Muscle-packed Robots for the Household

If the humanoid robots from Tesla or Figure are too boring for you, we can help. Clone Robotics in Wrocław, Poland, is presenting a musculoskeletal robot called Protoclone, which looks like a well-trained bodybuilder. In form, it is a faceless, anatomically accurate, synthetic human with over 200 degrees of freedom, over 1,000 myofibers and over 200 sensors.

In the video, we can still see it hanging from brackets that allow the roboticists to try out all degrees of freedom. The robot should be able to perform all kinds of household tasks, such as pouring drinks, vacuuming or doing the laundry, as well as shaking hands.

Pre-orders for the first commercial successor, Clone Alpha, which is limited to 279 units, will be possible later this year.

The next iteration of an android called Neoclone is also already in development.
