Who wouldn’t want a robot to do all the tedious household chores for them? We are slowly getting closer to this dream. I’ve already presented the robot that tidies our home (and saves marriages in the process) in this video, as well as the one that puts our groceries away.

Brett Adcock, Figure.AI founder and CEO, posted a video from his household on LinkedIn of one of his Figure 02 robots putting dirty laundry into the washing machine. Note how carefully it places and pushes the laundry into the drum.

Adcock’s children are certainly delighted.

The robot shown in the video uses Helix, a so-called Vision-Action-Language model (VLA for short), to perceive the environment, understand the context and work together with other robots. Figure.AI presented Helix five months ago, where we see two robots working together to sort groceries into the appropriate shelves. These include a fridge, drawers and a fruit bowl. They had not yet seen the food presented to them in training.
